From the outside, everything looked like it was working. Career. Responsibility. Progress.
My name is Joti, and this was my experience.
I spent over 25 years working in high-pressure environments across leadership, strategy, and large-scale projects. These were environments where performance mattered, expectations were high, and being capable and reliable wasn’t optional. It was expected.
On paper, it was everything I had worked towards. But working in these environments, I began to notice a consistent pattern. Capable, high-performing people carrying increasing responsibility, while quietly losing clarity on what actually mattered to them.
Over time, that pattern became personal. Not in a dramatic way, but in a gradual shift where the life I was living no longer aligned with my values. I continued to perform. I met expectations. I took on more responsibility. But underneath that, something felt off. And when that misalignment goes unaddressed, it eventually leads to burnout.
